“For it is in giving that we receive.” – St. Francis of Assisi
Throughout our 80-year history, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has committed to be a positive force in the communities we serve. In 2018 alone, Blue Cross invested more than $90 million to support health access, well-being and quality health care – that’s more than $8 for every person living in our state. Beyond monetary investments, Blue Cross and Blue Care Network employees also spent close to 14,000 hours volunteering at sponsored events and programs and donated more than 14,000 food items and articles of clothing to help their neighbors. As we celebrate the close of 2019 and our 80th year, we’re recognizing organizations that have helped to ensure our giving has the most impact possible. As a company with a presence in every county in Michigan and beyond, we work with local partners to pinpoint community needs and direct giving to groups and organizations doing important work. Blue Cross and the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation often partner with groups, organizations and non-profits to maximize the likelihood that funded programs reach the most people and are sustainable well into the future. Together, we’ve funded programs that provide access to health care for those most in need, help for people afflicted by opioid addiction, expand mental health resources for children and adults in underserved communities, promote health and well-being, support research and innovation in health care and so much more. As we reflect on another successful year, we’re grateful for partners committed to building a healthier state with us. We look forward to many more fruitful partnerships in the years and decades ahead. Learn more about the partnerships we’re proud of and our 80-year history here. If you enjoyed this post, read these:
