BCBSM has earned a prestigious award for the way it interacts with job candidates – for the third year in a row. The company is one of 61 winners of the fourth annual North American Candidate Experience Awards. The contest is sponsored by the Talent Board, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting positive experiences for job candidates. “We are honored to be recognized for the third straight year because this recognition confirms we are providing a first-class experience for people who apply for jobs at Blue Cross,” said Stefanie Thornton, director, Talent Acquisition.

The continued recognition will help the Blues attract the best candidates in a competitive job market, Thornton said. The honor also has an impact on customer experience and our reputation. “More than 35,000 candidates apply for positions through our career page each year (www.mibluetalent.com). We know that every candidate is either an existing member or potential member, and it’s important that each candidate feels they are treated with respect and that their experience is positive,” she added. For example, to make the experience more transparent for potential employees, the company gives active candidates the ability to follow up with their applications online. As part of the judging for the awards, the Talent Board surveys candidates for their opinion on how the process went.
